Laurie J. Treosti spent 44 years as a dedicated educator and made a difference in the lives of so many students and their families during her career. Mrs. T. devoted her life to the education of the next generation and believed in lifelong learning and advocacy. She inspired those in our community by attending law school at night while teaching full-time and then went on to practice law while continuing to teach third grade at Mill Plain Elementary. Her perseverance, resiliency, wit, sense of humor and compassion were admired by everyone that knew her.
The Laurie J. Treosti Memorial Scholarship was created in 2023 in her memory to inspire Mill Plain Elementary students to dream big and persevere through adversity, with the belief that ANY student can achieve academic success.

Students who attended Mill Plain Elementary at any grade level and are pursuing college or a post-secondary program are eligible to apply for a $1,000 scholarship to support their education.
2026 Scholarship Recipients
We are excited to recognize the 2026 recipients of the Laurie J. Treosti Memorial Scholarship!
This year’s scholarship recipients were celebrated with school visits joined by Scholarship Committee members, family, friends, and supporters to recognize their hard work, dedication, and achievements in a memorable way.
Congratulations to Aurora, Nina, and Zach from Evergreen High School, and Joselyne from Mountain View High School! We are cheering you on as you take the next steps toward your future and can’t wait to see all you accomplish.
2025 Scholarship Recipients
Evergreen High School students Jae Rodriguez-Hernandez and Khue Dinh, along with Corinne Tyler from Heritage High School, were named this year’s Laurie J. Treosti Memorial Scholarship recipients. To honor their accomplishments, the Scholarship Committee—together with loved ones and special guests—delivered a surprise celebration at school, creating a meaningful and unforgettable experience for each student. Congratulations to this scholarship winners and wishing the very best on their next chapter!

Kyle Krieger and Leo Ramirez were honored as this year’s recipients of the Laurie J. Treosti Memorial Scholarship. Both students had the privilege of having Mrs. T as their third-grade teacher, making this recognition especially meaningful. The Scholarship Committee, joined by Union High School Principal Griffin Peyton and other special guests, surprised Kyle and Leo during the school day, celebrating their achievements in a heartfelt moment they’ll never forget!
